Suspend Chuka Umunna from the Labour Party with immediate effect – template

Another template readers can use for submitting e-mails to the Labour Party’s complaints team – at complaints@labour.org.uk.

To whom it may concern,

I wish to register my anger and disgust at Chuka Umunna MP, who has used a grossly offensive slur when complaining about supposed victimisation. He has publicly instructed Jeremy Corbyn to ‘call off the dogs‘, by which he means left wing members of the party who want to remove right wing members.

There has been a frequent pattern among high-profile figures on the right wing of the party of using the insult ‘dogs’ to describe the Labour left. It is both offensive to the demeanour and intelligence of the people it is aimed at, and snobbish and elitist. Prominent Labour figures have been employing the term for at least three years without sanction or reprimand from those in the party who have a responsibility to enforce the rules.

Umunna uses the term while actually complaining about supposedly being ‘victimised’ by the left of the party. He therefore is clearly aware of the unacceptable nature of bullying, denigrating behaviour. Therefore he has no right to indulge in such behaviour himself, which brings the Labour Party into disrepute.

It is high time the casual right-wng use of this slur was clamped down upon, and I therefore demand that Umunna is made an example of. I demand his membership of the party is suspended with immediate effect, pending a full and rigorous investigation into his conduct past-and-present, with a view to his possible expulsion.

With polite regards
[YOUR NAME]

Chuka Umunna

Chuka Umunna is one of the worst on the Labour Right for using offensive and bullying terms while complaining about supposed offensive and bullying behaviour

This is ridiculous and does our side more harm than good.

  2. Mr. Umunna’s ‘dogs’ insult would be utterly deplored, and rightly so, if ‘dogs’ had been levelled at black people or Jews. Disgraceful!

  3. […] Already, social media colleague Martin Odoni has created a template letter of complaint to be submitted to the Labour Party. You can find it here. […]

no lets not be what they accuse us of being. we are labour, we believe in freespeach and freadom of debate. what he has said has been utterly reprehensable and out of order. but let due process take its tol. if his constituents are unhappy with him let him be deselected in a democratic way. there are more centre ground people in our party thats not a bad thing. it keeps debate open. but we cant keep throwing our toys out the pram and trying to silence people every time they say something we dont like. even if it is really bad. thats not the demorcratic way. thats not the labour way!

Ryan, have you been asleep for the last three and a half years? What do you think the centrists have been doing persistently since the moment Jeremy Corbyn stood for the leadership? We can’t keep sittin back and letting these smears continue, especially when these centrists are the very same people who keep using ugly slurs like these. It’s quite clear from their behaviour that they haven’t the honesty to stop it, and we have to ensure that there is some kind of consequence for them, or it will just carry on indefinitely.

Support your party and the leader of your party ….or find another to criticize . It is become apparent, that an agenda is driving Chuka to criticize and complain….Its called..” I want his job”
